Privacy policy

This policy explains data use on the Voceano website and newsletter. You can read the site without subscribing.

Who handles your data

Voceano is the project name. Controller: Sol Garcia. Privacy email: sol@voceano.com. Website: https://voceano.com.

Data and purposes

The newsletter needs your email address. We also process signup status, request date and source, confirmations and unsubscribe records to manage delivery and respect your choices. If you contact us, we use your message and contact details to reply. Hosting may log connection data to serve and protect the website.

Legal basis

Newsletter delivery relies on your consent, expressed by submitting the newsletter signup form or sending an explicit subscription request by email. Submitting the form requests a subscription. Consent for additional cookies or measurement is a separate choice requiring its own notice and mechanism where applicable. Newsletter consent uses GDPR Article 6(1)(a); rights and legal duties use Article 6(1)(c). Limited security logs rely on the legitimate interest in protecting the website against abuse under Article 6(1)(f).

Newsletter provider

We use beehiiv Inc. for subscription management and delivery. Its trust centre states that publication and subscriber data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. Its processing agreement covers operations on our behalf and provides standard contractual clauses for applicable transfers. Its privacy policy covers processing under its own responsibility. You can read those documents and its subprocessor list, or ask the controller for further information.

Measurement in emails

Open and click measurement, enrichment and advertising settings have not been verified in this review and must be checked before this policy is published as final. This draft does not claim those features are disabled. Newsletter signup does not provide blanket permission for new advertising purposes or tracking unrelated to the requested delivery.

Recipients and hosting

Access is limited to people managing Voceano, providers involved in each service and authorities when legally required. Hosting provider: To be completed. We do not use this form to sell your address or subscribe you to other publishers. Providers and relevant subprocessors must be identified before this policy is published.

Retention

Your email is used for delivery while your subscription remains active. When consent is withdrawn, we stop using it for newsletter delivery. A minimum suppression record may be retained to prevent further messages, along with evidence needed to demonstrate consent or address liabilities for applicable legal periods. Unnecessary data is deleted or anonymised; provider backups and logs follow their retention cycles. We do not promise immediate deletion of every copy.

Rights and unsubscribing

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability where applicable by writing to sol@voceano.com. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. Identity checks, when necessary, are proportionate. We normally respond within one month and explain legally permitted extensions. You can complain to the competent data protection authority, including the authority of your habitual EEA residence.

Automated decisions and changes

Voceano does not use the form to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. We will explain new purposes and request fresh consent where needed. The date of this policy identifies its version.
